2 yard skip Falkirk

2 Yard Skip Falkirk

The two-yard mini skip is the smallest we have and is ideal for operations that generate small quantities of rubbish. Due to its low cost, it is popular with private householders making smaller renovations or clearing out small spaces, but is also hired by trade clients who have a small amount of waste to get rid of (in situations where a midi skip or builder’s skip is overkill).

Furthermore, its small size makes it easier to fit into smaller driveways and yards than a standard skip for builders. It is both versatile and practical at the same time.

What type of jobs does it suit best?

This model is often used by homeowners to dispose of garden waste, such as hedge cuttings, tree trimmings, soil, and plant materials. However, it’s also used to dispose of garbage left over from DIY projects, especially when they didn’t go as planned.

Two yards are hired by landscapers and gardeners for small-scale gardening projects as well as the removal of outdated materials such as mulch, chips, gravel, and stones.

This size is also used by builders when they only have a small amount of work to do, such as clearing away a little bit of debris or brick after a repair. There may be gardening, cleaning up, and do-it-yourself projects, as well as minor construction. You can do this with hedge trimming, tree pruning, and small DIY projects like restoring a small house or cleaning out a cabinet, wardrobe, or box room. Due to its compact size, it is suitable for those with limited living space.

Clients (generally small businesses) use this solution to remove small amounts of trade waste, like flattened boxes and cartons, archive materials that are no longer needed, or broken furniture that they simply want to get rid of quickly without it piling up on or outside their premises.

How much waste can it handle?

A 2 cubic yard skip can hold the equivalent of approximately 20-30 standard black bin bags.

What size is it?

The dimensions of a two-yard skip are:

Metric: 1.2m long x 0.91m wide x 0.76m high (approximately)

Imperial: 4ft long x 3ft wide x 2ft 5in high (approximately)

Is it okay to put any kind of waste in there?

These skips can handle a wide range of waste, including general household waste, light commercial waste such as paper and cardboard, green waste from gardening such as soil, hedges, and tree cuttings, and construction waste such as timber, metal, concrete, stone, and brick from groundworks and building works.

We have other sizes such as 2 yard skip, 4 yard skip, 6 yard skip, 8 yard skip.

What types of waste cannot be disposed of?

For health and safety concerns, certain materials are not permitted to be disposed of in our two cubic yard skips. Liquids (of any kind, including paint, fuel, and oil), gas canisters & aerosols, electrical waste and appliances (which require specialist disposal), food waste (especially meat), asbestos, medical waste (including soiled nappies), chemical or hazardous waste, car tyres & batteries, and large amounts of plasterboard, carpet, and mattresses are all prohibited waste items. If you have any questions, please contact us before placing goods in the skip.

Does a permit have to be obtained?

Due to its compact size, we can usually accommodate a 2-cubic yard skip on most driveways or gardens, and we recommend positioning it off-road whenever possible so it doesn’t get dumped in by others and won’t cause a spill in your yard.

You will need a skip permit if your skip cannot be placed on private land and must be placed on a public road or other public area. The client must order one from their local government in advance. If you do not get permission before the skip is delivered, you can face legal consequences, including heavy penalties. This process can take up to two weeks. To avoid having to remove a skip before the permit expires, ensure that you reserve enough time on the permit.

You can find information about fees and restrictions for parking a skip on the road on the Clackmannanshire Council website.
