6 yard skip

6 Yard Skip Falkirk

It is a popular choice in both the commercial and residential sectors in Falkirk, commonly known as a “little builder’s skip.” At a reasonable price, this skip offers a large enough volume to dispose of considerable quantities of garbage and heavy things that would not fit in smaller skips. It is suitable for medium-sized projects and can handle a range of waste types. Due to its 1 metre shorter length compared to an 8-yard skip, it is an ideal choice for driveways with a shorter length.

What types of jobs can it be used for?

Extensions, garage or loft conversions, and new kitchens generate construction debris, which is frequently disposed of in an eight-yard skip by both DIY’ers and contractors.

Green garbage and heavy materials created during landscaping, driveway, and gardening tasks are also removed using it.

For both individual customers and landlords, it is great for flat clearances, loft clearances, and estate clearances following a bereavement. It can manage greater, bulkier garbage than a midi or tiny skip can.

Commercial and public-sector organisations utilise this method to get rid of excess inventory, trash from renovations, and office furniture and/or equipment that is no longer needed.

How much waste can it handle?

An 8-cubic-yard skip can hold the equivalent of 70-80 ordinary black bin bags.

What is the size of it?

The dimensions of an eight-yard skip are as follows:

In metric, the dimensions are 3.1m in length, 1.9m broad, and 1.6m high (approximately)

10 feet 2 inches long, 6 feet 3 inches broad, and 5 feet 3 inches tall (approximately).

Can I put any kind of waste in there?

Our skips can be used for a number of rubbish types, including household waste such as tree clippings, soil, and plant material, and construction debris such as stone, roofing materials, bricks, and concrete (this is our largest skip size for such heavy building-type waste).

What types of waste are prohibited?

Paint, fuels, oils, mattresses, carpets, and electrical equipment should not be disposed of in a general rubbish skip. It is not possible to dump electrical devices in normal rubbish skips because they require special equipment to decommission (e.g. refrigerators, freezers, TVs, monitors).

Medical waste (syringes, blood tests, soiled diapers) and asbestos-containing (or suspected asbestos-containing) products are also prohibited. Please contact us before placing your belongings in the skip if you have any questions.

Is a council permit necessary?

A builder’s skip can usually fit onto most customers’ driveways or gardens, and we always recommend placing it off-road wherever feasible to avoid people putting their own rubbish into your skip and “skip diving” and interfering with your load.

If you don’t have access to private land and must set your skip on the road (public highway) or other public land, you’ll need a skip permit. You can get one directly from your local government and pay for it. This process can take up to two weeks, and you must obtain the permission before the skip is delivered, or you will face legal consequences. When placing your order, make sure you leave enough time on the permit for you to do your task comfortably before the skip is removed.

Fees and other regulations for putting a skip on the road may be found on the Falkirk Council website.
